The jigging style on the yellow bone handle is actually a tribute to the work of Charles Platts, a prominent cutler from Sheffield, England, who brought his knifemaking skills to America at the end of the 19th century and later joined his knife company with W.R.Case and Sons Cutlery Company in Bradford, Pennsylvania, in 1905.

The Trapper gets its name from the consumer it was designed for. Because of its basic trapping and skinning design. Its lightweight design makes it a must-have for those who trap small game.  The Clip is a multi-purpose tool preferred for detail work, while the Spey is commonly used as an all-purpose utility.
